(JTA) — A fire at a Jewish bookstore in South Florida is being investigated as arson.
Police believe the fire that broke out inside the Holyland Judaica store in Hollywood was set intentionally, WSVN-TV reported. Surveillance cameras showed people running from the back of the store before the fire began, according to the report, and the back door had been kicked in.
Many books, including Jewish religious texts, were destroyed in the fire.
Authorities reportedly are investigating whether the attack was a hate crime.
