Dry Chanukah cocktail recipes

Need a non-alcoholic beverage for your office holiday party? Here are some Prohibition-era dry cocktail recipes, courtesy of JTA in 1934:

There is, first of all, the Orange Honey Cocktail. Mix in a cocktail shaker 2-3 cup orange juice, two tablespoons of lemon juice, two tablespoons of honey and a few grains of salt. Put crushed ice in four cocktail glasses, pour the mixture over ice and serve at once, garnished with shredded yellow orange rind.

Not less decorative is the Cherry Cocktail. Take ¼ cup maraschino syrup from a bottle of maraschino cherries, add two tablespoons of orange juice, one tablespoon of honey, and one tablespoon of lemon juice. Add ½ cup effervescing water. Mix well in a cocktail shaker and pour over crushed ice in four cocktail glasses. Garnish with a slice of maraschino cherry in bottom and on edge of glass.
