Jews and fossil fuels

To the Editor:

As a Jew and a member of a funding company that promotes commercial green energy development and production, I wholly concur with the Op-Ed titled "Jews should work to reduce fossil fuels, not ally with gas and oil companies." Israel for a long time has been at the forefront of development of green sustainable energy and water conservation. The oil companies are our greatest deterrent, and their unwillingness to expand or modernize their refineries shows their desire to maintain a grip on the world market and economy.

Jews  traditionally have not been in the inner circle of the oil cartels for obvious reasons — their kowtowing to Arabs. We as Jews should be looking at bio-fuel, wind and in some cases solar to help bring down costs, preserve the Earth and make fuel available and affordable to everyone.
