JERUSALEM (JTA) — Eleven Jewish teenagers were indicted in connection with several “price tag” attacks in an Arab neighborhood of eastern Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem District Attorney’s Office filed the indictment on Wednesday in Jerusalem District Court.
According to the indictment, the teens, whose names are under a gag order since they are minors, acted “with intent to harm the property and lives of Arabs.” They also are accused in the indictment of damaging property and endangering lives in the , according to reports.
The teens are accused, in part, of damaging cars and puncturing tires, throwing stones at cars in which they thought there were Arab passengers and breaking a bus window in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood.
“Price tag” refers to the strategy that extremist settlers and their supporters have adopted to exact retribution for settlement freezes and demolitions or Palestinian attacks on Jews.
