Had enough of Thanksgivukkah, the fictional – once in a lifetime – holiday that marks the overlap of Thanksgiving and the first day of Chanukah?
Conan O’Brien has.
The host of the “Conan” comedy talk show on TBS introduced on Tuesday the latest in what has become an almost-endless series of parodies about the confluence that takes place next Thursday.
“We want to celebrate this very rare occurrence,” he stated.
His addition to the seasonal silliness was “The Thanksgiving Turkey Dreidel,” a human top wearing a turkey costume and the sides of a dreidel around it.
Conan, who is not Jewish, advised his viewers to place their bets on the Hebrew letters that adorn a dreidel – he introduced the letter Heh as Cheh, with a proper guttural emphasis on the misplaced chet.
Gimmel won.
At the end of the spin, the turkey was joined by a pair of dancers, in traditional Pilgrim and Chasidic garb.
We won’t see another Turkey dreidel, as Conan pointed out, “for another 80,000 years.”
