(JTA) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had lunch in a New York restaurant hosted by casino mogul Sheldon Adelson following his address to the U.N. General Assembly.

The meal for five at Fresco by Scotto required every customer of the midtown Manhattan restaurant to enter through a metal detector, the New York Post reported.

Netanyahu arrived at the restaurant with some 30 security guards, the Post’s gossipy Page Six reported Monday. He ordered veal chops.

Meanwhile, officials from the haredi Orthodox parties, all in the opposition, are accusing the Prime Minster’s Office of desecrating Rosh Hashanah and Shabbat by commenting to the media on the High Holidays, Ynet reported Tuesday.

The haredi parties also reportedly plan to use the incident as a way to attack Naftali Bennett, chairman of the Jewish Home party and a government minister, for compromising his religious principles by serving in the government coalition, according to Ynet.
