JERUSALEM (JTA) — Some 150 young Jews from 32 countries are in Jerusalem for a global summit.

Participants ranging from app developers and journalists to toy designers and community organizers are participating in the ninth annual five-day ROI Summit through June 11.

The participants, who are in their 20s and 30s, lead sessions in which they share their knowledge and brainstorm ways to improve the future of the Jewish people. During the sessions they will discuss how to strengthen Jewish education and identity, Jewish arts and culture, environmental responsibility, and tikkun olam, or repairing the world.

“ROI was founded on the principle that while individuals can accomplish amazing things, if they work together, partner, collaborate, and learn from each other, they can accomplish the astonishing,” ROI Community Associate Executive Director No’a Gorlin said at the opening of the event. “We know from experience that it’s during face-to-face encounters that creative minds come to life and new ideas find fertile ground in which to grow.”

ROI  Community  is  an  initiative  of  the  Charles and Lynn  Schusterman  Family  Foundation.
