JERUSALEM (JTA) — An Israeli policeman was stabbed in the shoulder by a 14-year-old Palestinian girl in the Jordan Valley, Israeli police said.
The officer, who is in his 40s, was attacked as he was directing traffic Thursday morning on Route 90, where a tree had fallen over the highway, police said. The highway runs through the teen’s home village, Ouja, outside Jericho.
The policeman was lightly wounded and taken for treatment to HaEmek Hospital in Afula.
The attack comes less than a day after two Israeli soldiers were stabbed by Palestinian attackers in front of a West Bank settlement near Nablus.
