Israeli soldier seriously injured in West Bank stabbing attack

JERUSALEM (JTA) — An Israeli soldier in her 20s was wounded seriously in a stabbing attack at a West Bank bus stop near the Ariel settlement.

The two assailants were shot and killed by Israeli security forces who responded to the attack on Thursday morning, the Israel Defense Forces said.

The soldier was stabbed as she alighted from a bus at the Ariel junction.

Ariel, a city located south of Nablus, has a population of more than 18,000.

On Wednesday, a Palestinian boy, 14, carrying a knife was caught trying to climb the security fence from the Shuafat refugee camp into Jerusalem, The Jerusalem Post reported. Police said the teen admitted to planning to carry out an attack in Jerusalem.
