Whether you have an obvious or hidden disability, you know doubt have faced transportation, architectural, attitudinal and communication barriers. These barriers may have prevented you from being active in your synagogue, fully participating in Jewish learning, accessing stores and events in your community, or searching for  a shidduch (marriage partner.) If you are at least 13 years old, and would like to work with others to remove these barriers, attend the June 11th Yad Empowers Alliance Kick-off Luncheon.

Share with us the barriers you have faced.  Learn strategies that we use in working with educators, rabbis and other Jewish leaders to advocate for full participation in authentic Jewish life.

This is a program of Yad HaChazakah-The Jewish Disability Empowerment Center.

Location: Merkaz Community Center
1739 Ocean Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11230 (between Avenues L and M.)

Time:10:30 AM-1:30 PM

Please reserve your seat by Thursday morning, June 8, 10 AM. Call
646-723-3955 or email events@yadempowers.org.

Sign Language interpreters will be provided. The event is occurring in a
few days, but we will nevertheless make every effort to provide dietary and other accommodations (such as information in accessible formats) if you request them.

We look forward to meeting you on June 11. Together, we will begin to
improve the quality of Jewish life for ourselves and others who have
disabilities.
