JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israel’s Land Administration has razed an unrecognized Bedouin village in the Negev reportedly for the ninth time.
Bulldozers demolished 11structures built illegally in the village of Al-Arakib on Sunday, Ynet reported.
Police and residents clashed during the demolition. Five Bedouin were injured during attempts to disperse the crowd, according to reports.
Residents rebuild their homes following each demolition.
In the first demolition order carried out last July 27, some 1,300 police escorted Israel Land Administration officials into Al-Arakib before dawn, removing the area’s 300 residents before razing 45 structures, including homes and chicken coops.
The village was demolished for the fourth time at the beginning of Ramadan in September.
Sunday’s demolition was carried out in accordance with a court order, the Land Authority told Ynet.
"This is fascist-Nazi policy," said Arab-Israeli lawmaker Talab El-Sana, who had arrived at the site to help residents prevent the demolition. "The state is pushing its Bedouin citizens to the point where they may launch a popular intifada, which will have severe results."
