Nearly 1,000 Israel-bound Jewish immigrants aboard two ships left French ports near Marseilles this week-end.

The landing craft Altalena left Port de Bouc with 800 Jewish immigrants. The auxiliary schooner Marie Annie, nationality unknown, departed about the same time from a breakwater near La Ciotat, 25 miles west of Marseilles, with 150 Jewish men, women and children aboard.
