The first outdoor Jewish service in the history of St. Louis, attended by 10,000 people, arranged by the Rabbinical Association and the Jewish community was held in the Municipal Theatre. The service inaugurated the $3,000,000 campaign of St. Louis Jewry for the Jewish Welfare Fund.
It was denied today that the Seder service telecasted over the St. Louis radio station KSD-TV during Passover week was the first Seder ever broadcast by television. The first telecast of a Seder service was arranged by the Central Synagogue of New York, of which Dr. Jonah B. Wise is Rabbi, on April 25, 1947 over the National Broadcasting Company’s television outlets.
