,127 Jewish Immigrants Enter Palestine This Week; Aided by Upa Funds

A group of 660 Jewish immigrants arrived at Haifa yesterday and an additional 467 will enter today and tomorrow, bringing to 1,127 the number of certificated newcomers arriving this week. They will be rehabilitated and resettled with the aid of American funds provided through the United Palestine Appeal, Dr. Israel Goldstein, U.P.A. national chairman announced today on the basis of a cabled report from the Jewish Agency in Jerusalem.

Dr. Goldstein disclosed that the first group of 660 were mostly from Czechoslovakia. One hundred former inmates of the D.P. camps in Germany arrived today aboard the S.S. Alexandria. Three hundred and sixty-seven survivors of the Bergen (##)elsen concentration camp will arrive tomorrow in three vessels and immediately begin (##) course of rehabilitation in Jewish Agency reception camps. The newcomers range in (##)ge from a three-month-old infant to fifty years.
