$1,579,450 Budget Adopted for 1965 by National Jewish Welfare Board

A 1965 budget for the National Jewish Welfare Board totaling $1,579,450 was adopted by the JWB board of directors at its fall meeting this week, it was announced here today. The JWB is the national association of YM-YWHAs and Jewish Community Centers, and is the government-authorized agency for religions, morale and welfare services to Jewish men and women in the U. S. Armed Forces, their dependents and hospitalized veterans.

The JWB’s expenditures projected for next year show a net increase of $22, 775 over anticipated expenditures for 1964. The budget was presented to the Board by Jacob Good-steir, Newark, chairman of the JWB Budget and Finance Committee. In setting the figure of $1, 579, 450, the committee balanced priorities in the program plans of each of JWB’s service units against anticipated income from all sources.
