Two Israeli soldiers killed in a south Lebanon road ambush yesterday were buried today. The deaths of Sgt. Dan Philip of Haifa and Cpl. Mordechai Drei of Beit Shean, brought to 524 the number of the Israeli fatalities in the Lebanon war.
According to a military spokesman, the two soldiers died when their vehicle was hit by automatic fire and grenades as it passed the Shabritha village and refugee camp on the coastal raod near Tyre. An army dragnet failed to find the assailants who escaped through the banana plantation that borders the road.
