There are at present 3,996 houses in all the Jewish residential quarters of Jerusalem, according to a census taken by Mr. Spigel, of the Jewish Houseowners’ Association in Jerusalem. In addition there are 255 synagogues (including some very small ones), 55 Jewish religious schools, 36 Jewish baths and five Jewish hospitals.
