Three local Jewish civic leaders will be elected to office in the Rochester Chamber of Commerce, one of the largest bodies of its kind in the United States, for the year 1933.
They are: Benjamin Forman, head of B. Forman Co. Women’s department store; Sol Heumann, clothing manufacturer, and Alfred Hart, founder and owner of the chain of Hart Food Stores, president of Temple Beth El and a director in several national Jewish organizations.
Mr. Forman has been nominated to be a member of the Board of Trustees of the Rochester Chamber of Commerce to serve for two years. He has seen previous service in past years in this office. Mr. Heumann was also nominated to the Board of Trustees for a term ending in 1935.
Mr. Hart was nominated for his first term as a trustee. Nomination is tantamount to election. The new officers will be formally installed in January.
The Thirty-third Annual meeting of the Hebrew Educational Society, Brooklyn, N. Y., will be held tonight at the Society’s building. Max Herzfeld, president of the Society, will render the Annual Report. Election of officers will be held. A special program and tea will follow the meeting.
The Hebrew Educational Society is one of the constituent societies of the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities, concentrating mostly on recreational and educational activities.
