More than 500 attended the Chicago Mizrachi $18-a-plate. “Chai” dinner at the Hotel LaSalle. The banquet was the climax of the local campaign for the Keren Eretz Yisroel Shel Ha Mizrachi.
Rabbi E. R. Mushkin, chairman of the campaign, acted as toastmaster. Prof. Nathan Isaacs, dean of the commercial law department of Harvard University, was the main speaker. Other speakers were Rabbi Wolf Gold, president of the Mizrachi Organization of America; Max Shulman, Rabbi Ephraim Epstein, Rabbi Saul Silber.
