96,000 Jews Reported Residing in Soviet Moldavia; 48, 000 in Kishinev

The Moldavian Soviet Republic–which was formerly a Rumanian province–has a Jewish population of 96, 000, according to recent statistics received here today from the Soviet Union. Of the total registered as Jews, the figures show, 48,000 live in the capital city of Kishinev.
