A conference is planned for Paris next week on the recent upsurge in anti-Semitism in France. Organized by the Simon Wiesenthal Center, the Jan. 23 meeting will examine whether the recent spate of attacks against synagogues and other Jewish institutions is a specific result of the Palestinian intifada or demonstrates a more worrying general shift in public attitudes toward Jews.
