A federal court denied a petition aimed at halting construction of a memorial at the Belzec death camp in Poland. The motion was filed by Rabbi Avi Weiss, president of the New York-based Amcha-The Coalition for Jewish Concerns, to stop the American Jewish Committee from funding construction of a trench that runs through the camp. Weiss said the trench disturbed Jewish remains at the site.
