A former Israeli Cabinet minister was jailed for seven days on suspicion that he tried to smuggle 25,000 Ecstasy pills into Israel. Dr. Gonen Segev was alleged Thursday to have smuggled the pills from the Netherlands. Segev served as a minister for the right-wing Tsomet Party in Yitzhak Rabin’s government in the mid-1990s.
