A Jewish group protested that the city of Paris is funding an anti-globalization event featuring a keynote speaker accused of anti-Semitism. In a letter to Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoe on Monday, the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s director for international liaison, Shimon Samuels, called on the municipality to suspend more than $ million in funding to the European Social Forum set for later this week because of the presence of Swiss Muslim academic Tariq Ramadan.
