A Jewish woman who is suing Hungary for Jewish-owned art looted by the Nazis offered to let one of the 10 paintings she is claiming remain in a state museum. The lawyer for Martha Nierenberg, who fled Hungary in 1944 and now lives in Armonk, N.Y., described the offer as a “goodwill” gesture.
