A leading Palestinian official in Jerusalem urged the United States not to move its Israeli Embassy to Jerusalem. Faisal Husseini said Monday that such a move would be a “blow to the peace process” and to U.S. credibility as a mediator. President Clinton will decide this month whether to invoke a waiver that would allow him to postpone until the end of 1999 a decision on moving the embassy from its present location in Tel Aviv.
