A man who tried to assassinate French President Jacques Chirac said he isn’t a neo-Nazi. Maxime Brunerie, facing trial in Paris for trying to kill Chirac during a Bastille Day parade in July 2002, said his admiration for Hitler and hatred of Jews was not the motivating factor for the attack.
