A mass meeting of Montreal Jews, sponsored by the United Ziniost Council of Canada, today called on the Government of Canada to in sure that Israel withdrawal from the Gaza and Akaba areas would not mean the “restoration of Egyptian belligerency and a return of disaster. ” Michael S. Comay, Israel’s Ambassador to Ottawa, lauded the Canadian Government’s “understanding” of Israel’s position.
