A new Jewish organization will assist elderly and needy Jews in Moldova, one of Europe’s poorest nations. On Sunday, Jewish business leaders in Kishinev launched the Jewish Congress of Moldova. The group is believed to be the first indigenous charity group serving the needs of 30,000 Jews in this former Soviet republic, located between Romania and Ukraine.
