A Palestinian was killed in a shootout on the Gaza border. A gunman from the Popular Resistance Committees terrorist group opened fired Monday at the Erez crossing, where hundreds of Palestinians from the Fatah faction have taken shelter since Hamas seized control of the Gaza Strip last week. Soldiers on the Israeli side of Gaza fired back. One Palestinian was killed and 10 were injured. Israel said its troops did not target the civilians.
