A replica of the Western Wall is being built outside the Russian capital’s Choral Synagogue with funds from the city of Moscow. Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, known for his friendly relations with the local Jewish community, offered to help pay for the replica, which will become part of a new Jewish community center adjacent to the synagogue.
