A study of Ashkenazi Jews suggests that large cholesterol particles in the blood contribute to longevity. Published this week in the journal of the American Medical Association, the study found that people who live into their 90s and beyond are more likely to have a genetic variation that makes the larger cholesterol particles. Other research has suggested that exercise can enlarge the particles.
