A U.S. judge rejected a bid by two European insurance companies to have lawsuits brought by Holocaust survivors dismissed or transferred to European courts. Survivors and their heirs had filed 12 class-action lawsuits in Manhattan federal court, claiming the insurers had refused payments on policies taken out by Jews who died in the Holocaust.
