Joseph Karesch of Minneapolis was elected Grand Aleph Godol of Aleph Zadik Aleph, at the concluding business session of the sixth annual convention of the Order held here. More than 200 delegates, representing 3,500 members of 112 chapters, attended the sessions.
Expansion of the educational program of the organization and the furthering of Jewish religious work were the major decisions of the sessions. The official publication, “Shofer,” will be resumed to appear ten months during the year.
The delegates were guests at a banquet Sunday evening given at the local “Y” auditorium. A. L. Wolk, vice-president of District Grand Lodge No. 3, I. O. B. B., acted as toastmaster.
Other officers elected were: Aaron Tollin, Chester, Pa., Grand Aleph Sgan; Jack Brown, Kansas City, Grand Aleph Mazkir; Sol Zuckerman, Chicago, Grand Aleph Gizbor; Stanley Ackerman, Omaha, Grand Aleph Shotore Godol: Sidney rossman, Denver, Grand Aleph Shotore Kotone; Philip Wasserman, Grand Rapids, Grand Aleph Sofer: and Edward Cohen, Indianapolis, Grand Aleph Kohen Godol. Dan Krause, Braddock, Pa., and Jules Bisno, Memphis, Tenn., were named junior members to the Supreme Advisory Council, governing body of the A. Z. A.
