Abraham Herman, president of the Hebrew Sheltering and Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) 425 Lafayette street, has issued an urgent appeal for funds to individual members of the society in all parts of the country, as well as to the 1,400 national directors.
In his appeal Mr. Herman emphasized the work HIAS is doing in conjunction with the ICA and Emigdirekt on behalf of the Jewish refugees from Germany. HIAS he points out, is in charge of all problems in respect to emigration and immigration resulting from the German Jewish situation. In addition to this work HIAS continues its activities on behalf of Jewish wanderers the world over.
