Great excitement has been caused among the Jewish population of Vilna by the announcement that an action has been started against Ex-Deputy Dr. Wygodsky, the 75 year old President of the Vilna Jewish Community, on account of an article which he published last November, describing the attacks made by antisemitic students on the Jewish Students’ Home during the disturbances, of which he had been an eye-witness, and complaining of the behaviour of the police, and on account of an article in which he protested against the verdict handed down by the court in sentencing the Jewish student Wulfin, alleging that all Jews are filled with enmity against Christians, particularly against Poles, Ex-Deputy Wygodsky is accused of contempt of court.
