Alexander Godunov, the former member of the Bolshoi Ballet who defected to the U.S. last year, is expected to visit Israel in August for a series of performances with the Israel ballet corps. Godunov has relatives by marriage in Israel. His wife, a ballerina with the Bolshoi company, is of Jewish origin. She also defected but chose later to return to the USSR.
