Ambassador Ogden Rdid, American envoy to Israel, told President Eisenhower today that the progress Israel is making is due to the pioneering spirit manifested by the kibbutzim. The Ambassador reported in person to the President at the White House today.

The Ambassador also consulted with State Department officials on developments in Israel and the Near East. The pending trial of Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann was among the topics discussed, it was learned. Mr.Reid said he returned from Israel for a brief visit because his wife’s mother was undergoing an operation.
