The American Jewish Conference today urged President Truman to ask the Special Session of Congress to adopt amendments to the present DP law which would alter it from “a threat to democracy to a legislative enactment worthy of American traditions.” In a telegram signed by Louis Lipsky, chairman of the executive committee, a number of amendments to the present law were proposed by the Conference.
