A resolution urging that parents of school children and the children themselves agree on the form of prayers in schools, and ask local school boards to have such prayers recited in classrooms voluntarily, was adopted here yesterday by American Legion’s New York State convention.
Such a move, the Legion held, would by-pass the Supreme Court’s recent prohibition of the recitation of an officially – sponsored prayer in the schools.
