An attitude of “watchful waiting” towards Biro-Bidjan was adopted yesterday by the National Executive Committee of the Zionists Organization of America at its semi-annual meeting at the Hotel Astor, it was learned. It was determined, however, to oppose all attempts of the adherents of Biro-Bidjan to use it as a means of opposing Zionism.

The question of Biro-Bidjan was discussed from all angles, it was learned, and many members of the committee expressed belief that the Zionist Organization should issue a comprehensive statement on the Bureya project. It was decided however, to postpone the issuance of a statement until a later date.
