An alleged Lithuanian war criminal said he worked to prevent the massacres of Jews during the war, according to Lithuanian news reports. But Jewish officials said the claims by the 92-year-old Aleksandras Lileikis, who served as chief of the Lithuanian security police, are ludicrous.
