An elderly immigrant from the former Soviet Union donated her savings to Israeli troops. After hearing on the radio that people were donating to Israeli troops, Sonia Lipschitz, 78, decided to donate all of her savings, close to $15,000, the Israeli daily Ma’ariv reported.
