An Israeli Arab lawmaker was charged with incitement to violence. The charge against Azmi Beshara was submitted in a Jerusalem court Monday, after Beshara issued a call earlier this year during a speech in Syria for the Arab world to unite against the “warmongering” government of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon. A second indictment, for allegedly organizing illegal trips to Syria for Israeli Arabs, was filed Monday in Beshara’s hometown of Nazareth.
