* An Israeli lawmaker came out against a planned visit to the Knesset by a group of gay and lesbian teenagers. His request, which was refused, was deplored by other lawmakers. “The Parliament must act as a model of tolerance. There are no legal or humane grounds on which to ban them,” fellow Kadima member Ronit Tirosh said.
