An Israeli mortuary performed the country’s first commercial cremation. Alei Shalechet, or Autumn Leaves, which offers alternative burial options to Israelis unhappy with Orthodox rites, cremated a 66-year-old Latvian immigrant at an undisclosed location outside Netanya on Thursday.
