— An Israeli officer and a soldier were killed Monday while dismantling mines and explosive charges in south Lebanon, an army spokesman reported. He said the Israelis were asked by Maj. Saad Haddad’s Christian militiaman to help remove the explosives after a militiaman was wounded earlier in the day. They were reportedly planted by terrorists who infiltrated the Christian salient through territory held by the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon.
