An Israeli soccer team qualified for a top European tournament.Maccabi Haifa’s team returned home to a welcome from 300 ecstatic fans Thursday after qualifying for the series with a 3-3 tie against an Austrian squad. Giovanni Rosso, an Italian player on the Haifa squad, said qualifying in a match against an Austrian team was particularly gratifying after what the Germans and Austrians “did to you, and to us.”
