Ancient wooden tablets on which are inscribed the Ten Commandments have been found by Jordanian police searching for smuggled arms from Syria. the Jordanian Arab press reported today.
It is believed that the tablets once adorned the ark of an ancient synagogue in the Old City of Jerusalem which was destroyed by the Arabs during the fighting in this city in 1948.
