British sources have given assurances that the British-Egyptian financial agreement will not affect Britain’s present Middle East policy, it was reported today.

The assurances were given in talks with Israel representatives, in which the British spokesman was understood to have argued that the agreement should be considered purely an economic matter which should clear the way for resumption of British-Egyptian trade.
